FAQS

Where are You Located?

Our headquarters are in Lakewood, but we also have offices in Denver, Longmont, Littleton, Parker, and Colorado Springs, so there is usually an office close to you.

We work throughout the front range From Fort Collins down to Colorado Springs.

What Types of Roofs Do You Install/Service?

We service virtually every type of roof including steep and low slope roofs (flat), including asphalt shingle, metal, EPDM, TPO, PVC, fluid-applied coatings, and much more. If for some reason we can’t help you, we’d be happy to direct you to someone who can.

Do You Offer Free Inspections and/or Estimates?

Yes.  We offer fast, free inspections and estimates to all clients, residential or commercial.

Does Your Company Do Siding and Gutter Repair?

In addition to roofing, we also can repair or replace gutters, siding, windows, and exterior paint. Check out our services page for more information on these home improvement services.

Can You Perform a Roof Inspection for Real Estate Transactions?

At CSR&E we are known as the Realtor’s Roofer. We can provide fast, free roof inspections and estimates. We can also provide tune ups prior to the sale and provide roof certifications. For realtors we commit (weather permitting) to completing an inspection within 24 hours of your call and replacing a roof within 1 week of contract signing.

Does Your Company do Small Roof Repairs? What is Your Minimum Charge?

At CSR&E we are among the very best in the business when it comes to roof repairs. We show up when we say we will, complete the job on time and on budget, and we even warrant our repairs, unlike most companies. Although we often make exceptions for existing clients, for new clients, our minimum repair charge is $850.

So, hiring a professional roofing company with full crews does not make sense in all cases. For example, for very small issues such as replacing a downspout, re-attached a gutter to the fascia, repairing a small hole, or removing a satelite dish, we usually suggest that homeowners call a handyman.

How Long Does A Roof Last?

This depends on many different factors including what kind of material is on your roof, what the weather is like, and how often you maintain your roof. Here in Colorado, with our intense UV rays and temperature extremes, most asphalt shingle roofs last roughly 10 years if you don’t do anything to maintain them.  Tile and metal roofs can typically last twice as long as asphalt, but again, it depends on so many factors.

How Long Does a Complete Roof Replacement Take?

In most cases, residential roofing jobs typically take a day to complete.  If the roof is complex in shape or abnormally large, the job could extend to two days or even three days. Residential roof replacments rarely take longer than 3 days unless there are delays (such as weather) outside our control.

For commercial roofs there is a much wider time range depending on many factors. Just call us and we can give you a time frame once we have more information.

Will You Need to Enter My House to Inspect My Roof?

Not for a typical roof inspection, or leak repair, but if we are going to be replacing your roof, or we are assisting you with filing an insurance claim, we do like to look inside your attic for additional information and safety checks.  Also, there are occasional leaks that we are unable to find on the roof, so we may need to trace it from where the leak appears inside your home or business.

Can You “Cover” My Deductible?

No.  In Colorado, it is insurance fraud (both on your part and on the part of your contractor) for a contractor to pay, waive, or rebate any portion of the insurance deductible or for you to keep any amounts that the contractor has billed the insurance company for. However there are legal ways we can help you lower your out-of-pocket expenses relating to an insurance claim and we’d be happy to discuss those.

Do I Have to use the Insurance Company’s Roofer?

No.  You are legally entitled to use whatever contractor you want and are not required to use the roofer recommended by your insurance company. We suggest using someone who is focused on your interests (i.e., getting all your damages covered and getting you a quality roof) rather than someone who is focused on keeping costs low for the insurance company.

What If the Insurance Payment Isn’t Enough?

This is very often the case because insurance adjusters can’t see what is below the surface of your roof. Also, they usually don’t take local building codes into account. This is where insurance supplementing comes in, and where it pays to have a contractor that is intimately familiar with Colorado insurance laws and procedures.  We work directly with your insurance company to get additional funds (supplements) released so that your home can be fully restored to pre-storm condition.
